Pardon My Kitchen

I finally decided what to cook for dinner. You might be curious what it is, well, it's Chicken with Mushroom. For a change I cooked French food for dinner. I guess my husband loved the food, he had 5 chicken drumstick with mushroom, stir fried vegetables, salad, and white wine of course.

I will be posting my recipe and images on MySaladsandSoup food blog.

Pardon my kitchen because it's a mess. This is gonna be clean and ready for another Recipe for tomorrow.

Camping Dinner

Around 5 o'clock in the evening, hubby and I decided not to go to the restaurant to eat our dinner. We both agreed to buy hot dogs and buns and grill them on our camp site. So, here's what we had. I guess we were both hungry cause we almost ate every single hot dogs and buns. It wasn't a very big pack I think 8 hot dogs and 8 buns in a pack. We toasted our buns a little bit to have some crunch feel when you bite the bread.

Lobster Special Every Wednesday.

June 25-26, 2008

Though it's high in cholesterol, 'Lobster' is such a very good food. Especially every Wednesday in 'Boat House Restaurant' in Downtown San Diego by the Bay. This is one of our favorite seafood restaurant so far.

Michael ordered two lobster for $11.95 each, I also ordered the same thing + 2 Chocolitini ;). For that price it's a bargain! Where can you find $11.95 a lobster in any resto? If you are not allergic to seafood with shells, love seafood, planning to visit sunny city San Diego or live in San Diego. I definitely recommend this restaurant to try at least once.

Anyway, I am very sure that I ate too much lobster and dirty rice because my stomach really hurt. A few hours after we finished our dinner I still felt my stomach too full. Over eating a lobster is not such a very good idea. I should just stick to 1 lobster. I felt like 1 is not enough, so I really have to order two. Even though my tummy hurts for over eating the lobster. It was worth it, the lobster was really good.

I went to bed around 2200 hrs and around 0200 hrs my bloated stomach woke me up. I ended staying up 'till 0500am. So, I decided to make a draft for my blog for today as well as visiting other bloggers website and left my trail :). Being awake that early in the morning you can't really think of any other things to do, you either turn on your computer and browse the web and some do watch TV or just to nothing. I decided to turn my computer on and did some reading.

Anyway folks.. here are some pictures that I share to you. I am a little bit sleepy now, so I better go back to bed before my sleepiness go away.

What's For Dinner Tonight?

It's 5:30pm PST, it's time for me to think what to cook for dinner. But I didn't really have a lot of choices in the fridge because I only have 5 frozen jumbo shrimp. I decided to made calamari, I split the body with head and made batter (Eggg, Calamari Mix, Salt and Bread Crumbs). Of course the head is a very good part of the shrimp specially if it's very crispy. It was a pretty good dinner for two people plus we had banana and avocado.

After dinner we were watching televesion. Creme Bulle ice cream was really good, but calories are way too high 340cal per serving and it has 4 servings. Too much carb really made me feel sleep 'mo buti-ti na jud ko ani'. I really need to exercise twice a day to keep my body fit .

Craving for Filipino Food

Do you know any Filipino who doesn't crave for Filipino food?

The taste of Filipino food is very different compared with a typical American dishes. You really crave to have at least a taste of it once in a while. You may say that you are not going to miss the food. Let us see after you move to a foreign country and live away from home for quite a while I am pretty sure that you are going to find our own food.

The only food made by my bare hands in the Philippines is "Kalamay", "Sticky Rice", "Bihon", and "Fruit Salad. I know nothing how to prepare other filipino specialty food. I thought they were complicated to make and just don't have a lot of luxury time to cook them. But I was a very good observer during special occassions when my relatives cook food for their visitors. I also help them chop the ingredients needed and that's about the capability I have in the kitchen.

After I moved here in the United States, I started to prepare Filipino food because I felt that I have nowhere to go to find my own native food (Bisaya). I was surprise that my first main course Filipino food came out okay, that was "Nilagang Baka". It was kinda bland but you just have to add a bit of salt or soy sauce to make it more tasty :) or maybe chilli paste to have a little bit of spice on it if you wanted to. Good thing is I have my husband helping me out to eat them. Overtime, the taste of my food keeps improving.

Since then, I tried to cook different Filipino dishes from scratch serving friends and family. I feel good cooking food for my friends and family and see that they really enjoy and love the food I made for them. They make me feel to cook more food for them.

It is indeed very true of what many people said that, "Practice Makes Perfect."

"The more you practice, the better you will become. If you want to become great, then you should practice as much as possible."
